We work with organisations to unlock and improve their ability to leverage their knowledge to its fullest potential,  and the capability to learn at the pace required by their context.  Superior knowledge capabilities are essential to be competitive in the ever-changing and increasingly uncertain world.

We play an active role in growing knowledge leadership in South Africa, inter alia as conveners of the Southern African Knowledge Management Summit. We focus on bringing leading knowledge practices to progressive organisations. Our active learning approach enables us to embrace and synthesise trends and emerging practices related to changing organisational practices and technologies (such as social tools).

Consulting & Advisory: Facilitation and co-development of Knowledge Management strategies, assessments of maturity and capabilities, as well as roadmaps for organisations and KM Programs, or for specific projects/interventions (e.g. knowledge transfer to develop a strategic competency; Communities of Practice; Change Management; improving the uptake and impact of Lessons Learned; processes for learning before, during and after, Knowledge Retention Programmes to name but a few).  We also provide services for Record Management programs, including strategy, design (e.g. file plans) and change management.

Learning & Capacity Building: Overview and engagements workshops on all levels, including presentations, mini-workshops, workshops to multi-day training sessions and deep dives. We also design customised toolkits and material for organisations.

Facilitation: We bring you effective ways to enhance knowledge sharing & collective sense-making. We can facilitate small or large groups, using conversational techniques (such as World Café, Knowledge Café), and many other techniques that will liberate the knowledge and energy in your group towards meaningful and productive outcomes. We also bring effective harvesting techniques into a session that enhances the experience and outcome, such as graphic facilitation and social reporting. Let us help you to minimise the Powerpoint dependency in your teams and attain knowledge results beyond your expectations.

Knowledge HangoutsRegular face-to-face or online sessions that cover a wide variety of topics, such as developments in KM (e.g. standards), specific KM approaches and tools (e.g. Lessons Learned, Working out Loud), and aspects related to KM (e.g. organisational culture). Details of upcoming Knowledge Hangouts are available on the Events page.

SA KM Summit: Conveners and organisers of the annual Southern African Knowledge Management Summit. Save the date for the next Summit: 29-31 August 2017.

At Thinking Knowledge, we are committed to providing excellence by moving your business and ideas forward.
